Circular objects, animals in metal and pieces. I continue to be amazed and inspired by the places and objects I see.
I saw a place in Mar Vista up on Dewey, near the airport, that was nice. Planes overhead, but nice. ce. We live in Southern California. Don't we want to be outside? I understand this better in a cold climate, but here? It would be refreshing to see a true integration of interior and exterior.
Another Mar Vista property got me thinking about how so many of the new constructions fill the lots and have such oversized, virtually unusable spaces. I wonder why the architects think this is better than having a generous exterior spa
I saw a bizarre home in Brentwood, which seems odd to even call a home. Concrete, metal, dark and cold, few windows despite the fact that it was nestled in a beautiful canyon, surrounded by gorgeous trees and flowering bougainvillea. It felt like a mausoleum. I could imagine Marilyn Manson strumming in the dungeon of a living room on the barren white leather couch, his spooky eyes darting up in disapproval as I made my way with difficulty down the steps. (Damn fractured ankle) The only thing I photographed there was the totally out of context kitchen that seemed so insignificant and well, awful.
The highlight of the day was visiting Bridget Stuart, who has a great condo listing in Brentwood on Granville. She is a joy.
Possiblities? Always. The peephole at the horrid house in Brentwood reminded me that there is always room for inspiration and wonder, no matter what.
